Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO)
Despite its challenging name, HHCRO, it is expected to make up about 70% of all ECO funded installations until October 2018. HHCRO is the grant that supports the most vulnerable and fuel poor home owners and tenants in fuel poverty or in receipt of certain benefits .
For many of us the cost of keeping our homes warm is becoming more and more difficult. This is why the ECO grant funding programme is designed to Help to Heat. The beauty of this scheme is that you don't have to be out of work to qualify for a free boiler or insulation. In fact a variety of benefits help qualify you for this extra support or indeed your local council may confirm your eligibility for grant funding through ECO FLEX. Both options help keep you warm in winter and hot water running all year round.
HHCRO grant funding is calculated by measuring the estimated energy cost savings you could achieve over the lifetime of the product e.g. replacement boiler, electric storage heaters or insulation. These calculations are carried out by a professionally trained energy assessor.
If you have applied in the past with no success you may be accepted now as the qualifying criteria was changed dramatically at the beginning of 2017 and then again in 2018 to help more households pass for free funding.
